Sonic Powerboats is making waves once again with a new management and production crew the all new Super series is bound to take you away.

In August of 2010, Frisini Motorsports acquired the Sonic brand and will continue to build the full line of powerboats.

In 1976, former University of Texas architecture student Jay Ross found himself running an automobile accessory business in Ft. Lauderdale. His hobby was fast powerboats, and when his friends saw his 454 cu inch powered jet boat, the idea for Sonic Powerboats was realized. Over the three years, tastes would change. Some early Sonics were outboard powered, the radar arches have come and gone, but the consistent, predictable handling of the Sonic hull was always requested by both beginning and experienced offshore performance enthusiasts. By 1992 the company was a major player in performance boating, with models ranging from 22 feet up into the forties. Sonic racing became an established entity, with dozens of trophies for offshore competition.

On August 12, 2005, the CSI Group of Hudson, NH acquired the tooling and marketing rights for the Sonic brands of boats and formed a new division with manufacturing capability, CSI Marine.

Sonic, a high performance brand with a loyal following for over 25 years, continues its tradition of offering a high value, comfortable, safe, fast boat line. Sonic continues to build only the strongest, safest high performance and center console boats on the market today.

In August of 2010 -- Frisini Motorsports, manufacturers of Spectre Powerboats, acquired Sonic Powerboats from CSI Marine and is re-tooling their full line of lake and offshore boats along with adding new models to the line up. Owner Tony Frisina stated “Sonic is world renown for its quality build, roomy cabins, and comfortable ride. We will continue to build on that heritage and have lowered pricing on all the models." The Supersonic series by Sonic offers boats from 26' to 45' that boasts large and roomy cabins as well as a plethora of amenities for boaters who demand only the best. The Sonic line of boats have always been geared towards family performance boating allowing for the whole family to enjoy a beautiful day out on the water.

Frisini Motorsport's corporate office is based across the Hudson river from New York City on the Jersey shore and the boats are being built in the current manufacturing plant in sunny Florida.
